How do I apply?

Experience life-changing growth. Math tutors are urgently needed. Help students in local Minnesota communities learn the skills they need to succeed by serving 11 months as a math tutor. We're an AmeriCorps program, and our goal is to help all Minnesota youth become proficient in math by the end of eighth grade.

Before you Apply...

Please review this Guide to Applying before you decide to apply. This includes important information about what it means to commit to a year of service. Be sure to view all available positions. If you do not see a position available in your location, please continue submitting your application. Some positions that were previously full may open up at the last minute. However, if you are flexible with location, please apply for areas that are listed here.

A little about our selection process…

We fill positions on a rolling basis, which means early applicants will have more choice in service locations and will hear earlier about whether they are accepted. Our sites--elementary, middle and junior high schools--are also involved in making selection decisions. You may review a timeline of our application and selection process.  With the high volume of applicants, we unfortunately do not accept paper applications.

Connect with a Minnesota Math Corps Alumni
Are you thinking about applying but would like to hear what a "day in the life" is like for a Minnesota Math Corps member?
To hear from someone who has served with us in the past, submit your question here. Alumni can answer questions like what a "typical day" is  like or what they personally gained from the program. Questions about programmatic issues such as benefits, locations, and the application process should be directed to our Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator, Josh Kriz (
